Description:	RESUMO: A Fundação Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística (IBGE), tradicional fonte de dados socioeconômicos brasileiros, disponibiliza na Internet dados coletados a partir de 1990 no sistema SIDRA. Porém, algumas demandas de gerentes e pesquisadores envolvidos no desenvolvimento e no planejamento da pesquisa agropecuária, particularmente os da Embrapa Cerrados, que necessitam referir-se à essa região especificamente, podem encontrar dificuldades para serem atendidas. O subprojeto que originou este Boletim de Pesquisa visou a criar recursos para mitigar essas dificuldades, dando condições para recuperação de dados socioeconômicos ou agronômicos, ao mesmo tempo em que sugere métodos para utilizá-los no estudo da evolução da agricultura na Região do Cerrado. Para tanto, foi implementada na Embrapa Cerrados uma versão da base de dados relacional Agrotec, desenvolvida por Fernando Garagorry, na Embrapa/Sede/SEA que permite recuperação dos dados divulgados pelo IBGE a partir de 1975. Para satisfazer as necessidades específicas da Embrapa Cerrados, foi acrescida à estrutura da Agrotec uma tabela cujo domínio é a Região do Cerrado. Além disso, foi escrito um aplicativo em DELPHI que permite a consulta à base usando a rede interna de computadores da Embrapa Cerrados. ABSTRACT: The Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics as traditional source of the Brazilian socioeconomic data, dispose such data in the Internet. However, some demands of managers and researchers involved in the development and planning of the agricultural research, particulary in Embrapa Cerrados, that need to refer specifically to that area, can find difficulties to answer their queries. The sub-project that originated this Bulletin of Research sought to create resources to mitigate those difficulties, giving conditions for recovery of socioeconomic or agronomic data, at the same time suggests methods to use it in the study of the evolution of the agriculture in the area of the Cerrados. For this purpose it was implemented on the Embrapa Cerrados a version of the Agrotec, a databases developed by Fernando Garagorry that allows recovering the data from IBGE in a more direct and convenient way to the researchers. To satisfy the specific needs of Embrapa Cerrados, this region was represented by a new table added to the structure of Agrotec. Besides, it was written a DELPHI application that allows to recover data on the Embrapa Cerrados Intranet.
