Conteúdo:	The work presented here is a first attempt, using computer simulation, to bring together some of the factors in an extremely complex bio-socieconomic system which would be virtually impossible to study as a whole using conventional field experimentation. The model to be described does require modification to make it more relevant to actual commercial conditions but, even in its present state, the broad outline of the results of managerial decisions can be determined and thus future investigations can be narrowed down to the most promising systems.
