Description:	Resumo – Na região amazônica, nas áreas de terra firme exploradas pela agricultura familiar, os bananais são, normalmente, implantados em pequenas áreas, cujas produtividade e longevidade comercial são extremamente reduzidas. Há grande dificuldade para eliminá-los, pois a operação manual é onerosa e extremamente cansativa. Diante desse fato, objetivou-se desenvolver um método prático e eficiente para eliminar bananais abandonados nessas áreas, com a aplicação de glifosato. Chemical eradication of small banana plantations in dryland areas of the Amazons. Abstract – In the Amazon region, in dry land areas exploited by subsistence agriculture, banana plantations are planted in small areas, whose productivity and commercial longevity are extremely reduced. There is great diffi culty in eliminating them, as manual operation is costly and extremely tiring. Given this fact, the objective was to develop an effi cient method to eliminate banana plantations located in dry land areas of the Amazon.
