Conteúdo:	RESUMO: Pinus caribaea var. hondurensis (Sénécl) Barr. e Golf. é uma espécie tropical que ocorre naturalmente nas terras baixas da América Central e no leste do México. Esta espécie tem sido uma das mais estudadas entre os pinus tropicais no Brasil. O objetivo deste trabalho foi comparar métodos de seleção de progênies de meios irmãos, utilizando a seleção simultânea de três caracteres (forma do tronco, diâmetro do galho e volume) em nível de indivíduo, como subsídio para estabelecimento de pomar de sementes. Os métodos testados dividiram-se em três blocos: A - seleção simultânea de caracteres entre e dentro de progênies usando os índices multiplicativo e soma de ranks; B - seleção direta: sobre os valores reais do caráter volume e do índice multiefeito (IME) desse caráter; e C - seleção simultânea de caracteres, abrangendo todos os indivíduos do povoamento: usando os índices multiplicativo e soma de ranks. O método que propiciou um maior ganho genético na somatória dos três caracteres pertence ao bloco C, o qual usa os valores reais de cada caráter como fator no índice multiplicativo. ABSTRACT: Pinus caribaea var. hondurensis (Sénécl) Barr. e Golf. is a tropical pine that naturally occurs in lowland areas of Belize, El Savador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, and eastern Mexico. It has been one of most studied tropical pines and the one with the most commercial importance in Brazil. The objective of this work was compare selection methods for half sib progenies, using simultaneous selection of three traits (stem form, branch diameter and volume) at individual level, as subsidy to the establishment of seed orchard. The tested methods were shared in three blocks: Block A - among and within progenies simultaneous selection of traits: using multiplicative index (method 1), using rank addictions index with normalized values (method 2), using rank addictions index having as weight the genetic variation coefficient (CV) of each trait (method 3); Block B - direct selection: on the volume trait (method 4), on the multieffect indexes (IME) of volume trait (method 5) and Block C - simultaneous selection of traits for all individuals of stand: using the IME of each trait as factor of multiplicative index (method 6), using the real values of each trait as factor of multiplicative index (method 7), using the rank addictions index with normalized values (method 8) and the rank addictions index having as weight the CV of each trait (method 9). The method 7 was that propritiated a greater greater genetic gain in the sum of the three traits.
