Conteúdo:	ABSTRACT: The paper presents the experience acquired through the use of an internet portal as a divulgation media and to support the Information Management (UM) for the project "Brazilian Rocks as Alternative Sources of Potassium". It's described the portal creation, its implementation and the difficulties observed along this processes. The advantages and disadvantages in the use of this technology are listed. The paper concludes that the portal helps in the scientific information divulgation and in the organization of the IM tools. The conception must be preceded by a good target public identification, as well their needs. The implementation is easy due to the freeware and GNU General Public License (GPL) software available. The most significant difficult is the continuous content updating.
