dc.descriptionABSTRACT: This paper is an user's manual for the phpBB2, a bulletin board package (BBS) developed by the phpBB Group. It's an Open Source software chosen, experimentally, as a knowledge management tool to improve research and development activities at Embrapa Cerrados, a branch of the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation. An small group of researchers were trained on this software to manage information flow between them. This manual was written as a quick reference to support training, emphasizing four main topics: description of what is a BBS, the advantages of adopt is and how the phpBB2 is designed; facility to become a registered member of the BBS and how to enroll the thematic groups; steps for messages reading and posting into the forums; and description of advanced system features, with available options in the phpBB2 main menu.pt_BR
