dc.descriptionABSTRACT: Since 1976, several researchers have adopted the municipal unit to represent the Cerrado Region in a map. But, the group of municipalities that characterize that Region has changed on the time and the area of Cerrado has reduced to zero in many counties. This fact makes necessary to think on the criterias to choose the statistical unities to represent that Region. This work has aimed to define a set of counties by using the criterion adopted by the Geophysics Laboratory of Embrapa Cerrados and made two suggestions: in the sense that the researchers use the micro-Regions as statistical units, because it is perennial; and that the group of counties that represents the Cerrado Region, to be re-defined more often.pt_BR
