Abstract: The objective of this work was to evaluate the performance of tilapia feed commercial diets with different levels of crude protein (28, 32 and 36% CP). The experiment lasted 227 days and was carried out in 12 fish cages with 2,0 m -3 , installed in a rural reservoir with 6,600m -2 , located in Monte Alegre do Sul, SP. Tanks were stocked with 125 fish m -3 with initial mean weight of 40.8, 39.4 and 42.1g respectively, for all 3 treatments. The experimental design was completely randomized (three treatments and four replications), data were submitted to ANOVA. The mean temperature was 21.1°C; dissolved oxygen 6.0mg L -1 and the pH was 7.3. Mean values ??of daily weight gain were: 1.91, 2.22, 2.17g; biomass gain 87.45, 105.71 and 99.22kg m -3 ; survival rate 80.5, 83.6, 80.2%, apparent feed conversion was 2.18, 1.89, 2.03, and the protein efficiency ratio was 15.84, 16.06, 13.98 for treatments with 28, 32 and 36% CP. Significant difference was observed in the mean final weight for fish fed with 28% compared to fish fed with 32 and 36% CP. The best protein efficiency rate (PER) was obtained for feed with 32% CP. And, the apparent feed conversion rate (AFCR) did not show any statistical differences between the treatments.
