dc.descriptionIn order to know the influence of different components of the Gross Value of Agricultural Production (GVAP) is required the decomposition of the variables. The Shift-Share method is an effective tool for this segmentation. Thereby, the main objective of this study was to analyze, by means of an adaptation in Shift-Share method, the impact of the variables: harvested area, productivity and price on the percentage change in GVAP in the corn production. Six periods were analyzed apart from (1990-1996, 1996- 2002, 2002-2008 and 2008-2013) and also the entire period (1990-2013), in the main center corn producer in Sergipe State. The study findings showed that the price was the only variable that showed negative annual growth rate, in all municipalities and in the state too. The results showed mainly that between 1990 and 2013, the GVAP increased 14% per year, resulting from changes in the variables harvested area, productivity and price, which caused effects of 2.9%, 23.7 and 12.6% respectively on the rate annual in the GVAP in the reporting period.pt_BR
