Conteúdo:	RESUMO: O experimento foi instalado num Latossolo Vermelho com a cultivar Mundo Novo MN 379-19 na Embrapa Cerrados em Planaltina - Distrito Federal. Os tratamentos tiveram início no ano agrícola de 1997/1998 e apresentaram as seguintes doses: 0, 100, 200, e 300 kg/ha/ano na forma de uréia, aplicados, a lanço, embaixo da saia do cafeeiro, 100/kg/ha/ano na forma de uréia, aplicados no sulco, paralelo à projeção da copa e 100 kg/ha/ano na forma de nitrato de amônio, aplicados a lanço, embaixo da saia. As doses começaram a ser ministradas no início da época chuvosa (outubro de 2001) em quatro parcelamentos. As amostras de solo foram retiradas de entre as linha, na projeção da copa e sob a saia do café, nas profundidades de 0 a 5, 0 a 10, 0 a 20, 20 a 40 e 40 a 60 cm. O pH foi a única variável que apresentou diferença quanto aos tratamentos aplicados. As demais características químicas só apresentaram interação entre a profundidade e o local de amostragem. Foi observando um gradiente de concentração em função da profundidade de amostragem do solo que variou com o elemento analisado e o local de amostragem. ABSTRACT: The experiment was intalled in a red Hapludox with the cultivar Mundo Novo MN379-19 at Embrapa Cerrados in Planaltina - Distrito Federal. The treatments were initiated in the agricultural year of 1997/98 and were presented with the following doses: 0, 100, 200, and 300 kg/ha/year of N in the form of urea, thrown under the clump of coffee tree, 100 kg/ha/year in the form of urea applied in parallel furrow at the clump projection and 100 kg/ha/year in the form of ammonium nitrate thrown under the clump. The doses started to be employed in the beginning of the rainy season (2001 October) in four installments. The soil samples were collected between the lines, in the clump projection and under the clump of the coffee tree, with 0-5, 0-10, 0-20, 20-40 and 40-60 cm of depth. The pH was the only variable showed a difference regarding the treatments applied. The others chemical features only showed some interaction between the depth and the place where samples were collected. A gradient of concentration was observed in relation of sample soil depth, wich change with the element analyzed and the place of collect.
