Description: ABSTRACT: The arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi community is low in Cerrado soils and it gradually increases with soil cropping. Rotations of crops and of production systems stimulate propagation of those fungi in the soil, mycorrhiza formation and its effects in the plants. The crop-pasture integrated systems are well recommended, as pastures favors spores multiplication and crops increase the number of species of those fungi in the soil. The mycorrhizal contribution on growth of soybean and Andropogon plants, used in an integrated system, was of 50 % and 90 % respectively. Crop/pasture integration brings also environmental benefits as carbon sequestration in the soil through glomalin production and the degraded pastures recovery, through quantitative and qualitative improvement of mycorrhizal community in the soil.
