Description:	ABSTRACT: The morphologic traits have generated great interest in creators and researchers, and studies have been carried through with intention to verify the genetic and ambient effects these traits. The research suggests that the selection based in visual scores can be effective. Thus, the objectives of this study were to present of simple form the visual evaluation methods applied in Brazil as well as the possibility to use visual scores as selection criteria in Nelore breed. The questions had been presented with intention to explain the importance of the morphologic traits evaluated by visual scores and the necessity of inclusion in improvement genetic programs.
