Description:	ABSTRACT: This paper presents an experience involving the use of a Bulletin Board System (BBS) for the Project Brazilian Rocks as Alternative Sources of Potassium. It's described the BBS specification, its implementation and the difficulties observed along this processes. The advantages and disadvantages of this technology are listed. The application shows that BBS is a useful Information Management tool to support the research teams. The conception was based on the needs of an asynchronous communication mean that could be used as an organized pool of data and information. It was used the phpBB®, developed by the phpBB Groups. The most significant difficulty was to convince the researchers to enroll the BBS.
