| Description: | ABSTRACT: The project "Conservation and Management of the Biodiversity of the Cerrado biome - CMBBC", chose as its regional study area, the geographical region of northeastern Goiás called Paranã-Pirineus. One of the initial tasks of this project was the socioeconomic characterization of the 34 cities and towns (municipalities) which comprise the Paranã-Pirineus regional study area. Using data from the last Brazilian demographic census, the 34 towns were evaluated considering the following items: population characteristics; education; income; housing characteristics; basic sanitation conditions; health; economic characteristics; number of agricultural establishments and land-use on such establishment; and the characteristics of agriculture in the region. This document presents a synthesis of the data collected for the 34 towns which compose the Paranã-Pirineus regional study area - AER. |
